My neighbor has one just like this minus the red dot. Borrowed it on one hunt last year to see if it would do what he said range wise. When I shot at this turkey, I guess I was not holding onto the gun tight enough but I thought it separated my shoulder. Never have experienced pain from shooting a gun that almost made me vomit until I shot that gun.

I don't know if they make the h&r 10's different than the one I have, but mine doesn't have bad recoil... I know mine has a lead rod in the stock supposedly, do some have it and some don't?

Probably had to do more with the funky position I was trying to shoot from and not holding on to the gun very well. I know it did not have a butt pad so that may have added to the punch. That gun was real heavy so I would figure it would not have kicked like that. I'm a good size guy 6'3" 275 and it was all I wanted that day.....no mas H&R 10G por favor

I got the same one, except i took the rod out of the stock.

its got alot of recoil, but its not really that much more than a 12ga with 3 1/2's

Where did you find a rail mount for the 10 single? I have the same gun that I'm trying to put a red dot on, but can't find the rail mount needed, and the holes (predrilled) are too wide for my scope

I finally had the opportunity to shoot some 3.5 Hevi-shot #4s 2 1/4oz in the new 870 yesterday. Man, what a difference that shell makes. I had 18 pellets in the kill zone, 48 pellets in the 7" circle and a total of 102 on the paper at 40yds.

The Magnum Blend is too expensive to shoot for target practice, IMO. So these #4s will be playing backup to that come March 16th.

3" 870 SP with an indian creek choke. Check out indian creek chokes when you go to buy one. They are kinda high but lord do they pattern will using hevi 13.
