1999-2000 a strong nine. 2000-2001 another strong nine.

Last year a high 7 to 8; this year is a 3-4 since we have great water, cold weather, ample opportunity, just no ducks?

7 as of now but holding out for higher. We are killing 25-40 mallards per weekend but are normally killing about twice that.

I have never had this much trouble killing ducks on our fields. I can only remember 1 year that had this much water on the fields but the river wasn't up as much and we did fine (also didn't have this much waste grain on the ground everywhere). In the years with normal rainfall or rainfall in the negative numbers before the season we kill ducks with consistant with the finer hunting starting the last 2 weeks of Dec throughout the season and always loaded up for youth hunt for the kids. But this year, nothing but watching high flyers coming off the river and going somewhere!!!!!!! 8 mallards dead and 1 Mottled.....Usually have 20 times that by now.......Like I said above.....0.5/10 :(

I would give this year a - 3. It would be nice to at least see some high flyers. I have seen a few nice sunrises but that is about it.

Couldn't agree more.

This year has been a tough one. It has been especially painful because we expect to kill ducks. Lots of water, good temps. Really really good temps. Habitat looks good. Birds just aren't around. So painful.

today was a -3
dumped the boat off the trailer in the landing parking lot (the strap broke), left several things in the truck, every bird that worked went to the next hole over, we got skunked, and i froze my booty off.

a 4 and heading south rapidly. Scouting my booty off and can't find any numbers to ambush. Usually in the past if i scouted this much i could at least find em hemmed up and get 2 sometimes 3 decent hunts a week. This year it has been one decent hunt every 8 or 9 days. Surely it's got to get better. :(

2 of 10 on the hunts. 10 of 10 on the good food, spirits and fellowship and all that goes with "duck hunting" not all about the kill but killing em sure does feel good. spent more time, money and effort this year that ever before and so far have killed way fewer ducks. have saved lots of shells though

I would give it a 3/4. There really are lots of ducks here. But given the ample food supply, and the fact that there is water EVERYWHERE, the ducks are hard to "hem up" consistently. One jam up hunt, and they are going to find someplace else to use where they are not pressured.
