GH22, you're right. MSU really knows how to do it when it comes to playing Alabama and other really good teams. We can only beat cupcakes. State will dominate Nick Saban and expose the weakness in the Tide. Good luck against LSU.

You know, you're half-right. I can't enjoy that much football anymore. It could be the fact that I am 7 hrs ahead living in Italy(thanks alot Uncle Sam gees) , or it could just be that fact that I just don't believe football is important in the big scheme of things , Ya dig?

I'm not saying they knew all our plays and exactly what we are going to run. Alabama played fantastic Defense. Do you not think its a tad odd for a guy who has been on the sidelines all year, to be in the press box with binoculars on Freeze, standing next to a guy with a headset on? Its not that far fetched for Siskey to see Freeze's call, say "Its a pass". That gets relayed to the Defensive coaches, who signal to the Mosely who audibles his defense. The play clock was getting to under 10 seconds almost every play because Wallace was having trouble with the crowd noise and was having to walk to each individual lineman and tell him the audible. Yet again, I'm not saying that this was the case, but all of that can happen in a matter of 20 seconds.

Our defense played outstanding. We gave up 2 big plays that resulted in 150 yards and 14 points. Other than that its an 11 point game. The defense is small and undersized, but our secondary played very well I can't be more proud of them. You can't ask for anything more from them. They were on the field for 40 minutes.

Offensively I'm okay with going for it on 4th. We wanted to come out and punch them in the mouth. I was in the stadium, after the first play, on the big pass you could kind of feel it deflating a bit. Freeze went for the knock-out in the first round. After a few times, you just have to lie in the bed you made. We had to keep going for it on 4th. I know 2 instances the pass was there, and it got batted at the line. We ran NOTHING over the middle of the field. No slants. No drags. Everything was to the outside. Alabama's defense came to play. Nothing more than that.

I will say the Alabama fans I met in person were much more humble than yall. EVERY single one of them admitted that they were worried about us. Most agreed that was the best the Defense has played in a long time. Your offense though has problems.

So all in all, I'm happy with the season thus far. If you would have told me we'd start the season 3-1 and nationally ranked. I'd taken it in a heart beat, as would any State fan.

I agree with everyone that there is no way Siskey can read Ole Miss offense and relay the play to Bama on the field in time for the up tempo offense. And no that is not why we lost the game. And yes I probably would have kicked the early field goal but at the same time Freeze has a history of going for it on 4th down and if they make it and score no one questions it. Then again if Ole miss had made it and scored a td Saban may have gone for it a couple of times and the Rebels could have been down more at halftime. (notice all the ifs and could haves in this)

But I do have one question - Why was Tyler Siskey (that is never in the booth or on the field during a game) in the booth for this game? I don't have the answer put I guarantee you Nick Saban does and it is the reason he has won national championships in 3 of the last 4 years and is No 1 in the nation this year. So what does everyone think Siskey was there for?

God is old school. He don't have time for that and neither does Nick Saban.

Siskey being in the booth was pure genious by Saban......psychological mind games......nothing more. Just goes to show the impact a coach can have on an opponent without saying a word to them......now all the fans are 'thinking' about it while Bama moves on to another opponent.

I don't see how it sounds anything like a moral victory? I simply stated that our defense played very well. Would you not agree? I said that our offense performed very poorly. I don't even mention anything close to a moral victory. Move along troll.

I'll agree with this. What makes more of a statement though than to get a 4th down and score a touchdown on your opening drive against the #1 team in the nation at their stadium? It simply backfired on Freeze.

Your offense has spit and sputtered all year except for against TAMU... which we can agree doesn't have much of a defense. Hell Arkansas (that plays religiously correct football according to you) hung 33 on them. I'm sure Saban will get the kinks worked out, as of right now though.... It's not as good as years past.

I am confused did the Ole Miss defense play well or does the Alabama offense have problems. If the defense played that well then the offense does not have problems. If Bama's offense has problems (put over 400 yards and over 200 rushing) then the Ole Miss defense did not play that well. Also that veteran OL has three new starters and then had to play the back up center after an injury to the starter. I will give credit to the Ole Miss defense. They came out ready to play and were flying to the ball and making some good hits and tackles early in the game. The problem is they were having to blitz hard to shut down the running game. Seemed like Conner was blitzing every play. When Ole Miss did not blitz they were gashed by Bama's run game. Bama is not a team that comes out and tries to put up a bunch of points early. They pound you and pound you with body shots in the first half and wear you down then come back with the knock out shot in the second half that is their game plan usually and they executed it perfectly this weekend. The OL still has a ways to go but are getting better.

So the rebels think that this guy is the only coach that has ever watched the other team's sideline with binoculars? The coach right next to him also had binoculars. I bet most every coaching staff has someone doing that, they just don't show it on TV. Coaches change schools every year and use their knowledge against their former team. I bet the Colorado St coach knew a lot about what Bama would do because he used to coach at Bama. I thought the read option meant that the QB made decisions at the line of scrimmage and Wallace has the option after the snap to give to the back or pull it and run or throw the quick pass? How could Bama read his mind and know what he would do after the snap? This offense is very simple and is being used by a ton of high schools. It is dangerous because it utilizes an athletic QB who can do multiple things after the ball is snapped. I thought Ole Miss played well. The fans need to move on and let it go. I bet Auburn has a couple of GAs working right now trying to figure out the Ole Miss play calling system.

Freeze also held his weekly press conference Monday. The first two questions were about Siskey.

"I don't know where he typically is," Freeze said. "Certainly, I'll say that Alabama had a wonderful defensive plan for us. I give them a lot of credit for the work that they put in preparing for us, whether it was in the summertime or whether it was just in the week. Nick and Kirby (Smart) are two of the best in the business. Not that they needed a lot of help in preparing a gameplan, but I'm sure Siskey helped in some way.

"Tyler Siskey's a good man, and I hate that it's been quite the drama. Do I feel like they had an excellent plan for whatever reason? I did. But I'm sure that Nick prepares just like any of us would. I'm ready to move on to Auburn."

Asked if he or the Ole Miss administration had complained to the SEC about Siskey's role Saturday, Freeze said he had not and didn't know of any move afoot by the school's administration to do so either.

"They beat us," Freeze said. "They lined up and beat us and I'm ready to move on to Auburn."
