About as classy as you bashing Mullen because he is not as Godly. Like you cared about that quality when you were looking for a coach. Remember this is the same fan base that embraced coach O and all he was about. Never heard anyone complain he was not Godly. If Nick Saban would have applied for the job would you have hired him or Freeze? No one would have complained that Saban cusses his players and is a jerk to the media. No one would have said we need Freeze instead of Saban because Freeze is such a Godly man. Why can't we just all admit that God has no interest in who wins football games and we all should be as passionate about saving lost souls as we are about football.

He sleep with your girlfriend in high school or something?

My mistake. I don't think the constant personal jabs toward Mullen by Ole Miss fans/forum members are appropriate so I should not criticize Freeze. I was wrong. Will not happen again.

I'm just wondering what you got on the man, cause I rarely if ever read anyone with your opinions of him, where does it come from? Mullen on the other hand is a polarizing figure, not hard to see where some might derive an opinion.

heard someone say this the other day and thought a lot of truth... it's never a "big deal" to beat your rival, but it sure is a "big deal" to loose to them... thought that holds a lot of truth. this is the first egg bowl, that i can honestly say that i feel that Ole Miss fans, students, and followers alike truly relished in the moment of a win against the rival.. I haven't seen as many or been apart as many as some on here, but i don't remember one that felt as "special" as this one; and the same can be said about the eggbowl in starkville in mullen's first year.. i've witness state beat us several times, but don't ever recall them enjoying the moment as much as that one... just my 2 cents

As usual here, this thread has taken a weird turn. Who said anything about Mullen being ungodly, or that Freeze was godly?? What started all of that bullcaca?

I don't think God cares who wins or loses football games, despite what Touchdown Jesus University might think about that statement.

Now, can we please leave this parallel universe of the totally irrelevant, and get back to the matter at hand? The Egg Bowl.

I started another thread to hopefully entertain more serious football discussion than this admittedly backhanded smack thread.

Its always fun to poke back at someone who has been poking at you for a long time, and even better when all you have to do is point out their own previous words and actions. Most rational MSU fans saw this day coming, despite Mullen's boast that MSU would NEVER lose to the Rebels again, and dreaded the inevitable. Only a hapless sheep would have actually believed Mullen --- please tell me none of you really believed that caca. And when you poke a stick at and taunt an animal long enough, no matter how docile or tame the animal, eventually that animal will bite you back. That moment started when the clock ran out in VHS Saturday night. And after a period of time to vent a few pent up frustrations (built up over the past 3 years), it too will pass, and normalcy will begin anew.

There is a way to promote your own school for its own positive attributes, without having to put down other schools in the process. Sadly though, we are seeing evidence of a society that does not see the virtue in such a position, preferring instead to put down others in order to elevate themselves.

Not only have we recently seen the now embarassing public spectacle of MSU's PR campaign of putting down Ole Miss (directly and indirectly), but we have also had to tolerate such from schools such as USM and Delta State ----two teams that enjoy some degree of broad support from all Mississipians, including UM and MSU fans. And I would proudly note that during this dismal season for both USM and Delta State, no Ole Miss or MSU fan here on this board (nor any representative of the these schools, to my knowledge) recipricated by running them down or making fun of their programs, like some of the fans here of these two programs and their respective administrations did to UM and MSU in the past few years when UM and MSU were down and out. The Golden Eagles and Fighting Okra have been rather quiet lately and a bit more humble.

I agree that all the # shizz and the smack talk, especially from the coach was a little over the top and I knew the day would come that it would bite us in the booty, but come on, us State fans have sat by humbly for years and listened to Ole Miss run there mouths with much to do about nothing. Heisman trophy stickers everytime someone new comes to Oxford, thinking you are on the same level as LSU and claiming they are your real rivals? Mullen did one thing, got people fired up. Maybe more fired up than we were ready, but lit a fire under an otherwise stale fanbase. One of my highschool coaches said one time, "Things are never as good as they seem, nor as they are as bad as they seem, reality lies somewhere in the middle". Both fan bases could stick that little bit of knowledge in the back of their minds. Neither school will ever win a NC, and other than making it to a good bowl game, like it or not, the Egg Bowl is about as competitive as it gets.

Yep, Mullen/MSU insulted us just a little bit.....a little bit.

Its kind of like a caca eating green fly that just keeps buzzing you --- at first you try your best to ignore it, and then it starts getting on your nerves a bit --- just a little bit ---- and eventually after swatting at it with your hand doesn't work, you have to get up to get the fly swatter and take care of business.

Did you see Freeze doing the train motion with his hand taunting the MSU players? Do you think that was appropriate considering how you have criticized Mullen for his behavior?

To me it looked like the Rebels were just enjoying and celebrating a win after going 0-3 the past 3 years. State fans can say whatever ya'll want to about the game meaning nothing, but we all know you wanted to win this game more than any of your 4 conference wins over Auburn, Ky, AR, and TN (who's only wins came from beating each other). We enjoyed the victory and I think we handled ourselves accordingly. It's not our fault your coach, players and admin publicly rubbed our noses in your last 3 victories. But if it makes you feel better, please take solace in the fact that Freeze, Bjork and staff will not publicly hold this victory over your heads, so if you wish to forget about it and set your delusional season behind you, you will, in all ways, be aided in that process by the Ole Miss Rebels. Freeze and Co. will only remind you of it once more this year, on Feb. 6 when Moore, Conner and Shumpert all ink NLOI to play against ya'll on Nov. 30th of next year.............It's ok, you'll survive.......we did!!!
