Just watched his interview with David Feherty on Golf Channel again today, he owns THE General Lee, Lee 1, the one that jumps the dirt at the end of the opening credits...

Yes. He does not own a replication nor a copy. It's the original. THE General Lee.

I stand corrected. Congrats on a good ole boy redneck like myself!

On another note, did I read correctly he is just a grip it and rip it player? No real formal golf school or anything?

Yes and no. Bubba, Boo Weekley, and Heath Slocum all grew up playing together. Jack Slocum, Heath's dad and a Pro, worked with all three of them while they were in school and Ams. Jack, who is a helluva teacher worked with all of them who had different strengths and weaknesses. Bubba, who was very long, but had little short game vs. Heath who wasn't long but was pretty deadly from 100yds in. Then there's Boo, who's just...well....Boo. So, to say he's never had a "formal" lesson is true. But it doesn't hurt to have Jack standing behind you when your practicing either

Heath and Jack both spent a large portion of Heath's younger years in Vicksburg.

Never had a lesson so they say. Used to be kinda of a side show on tour with his long drives. He works the schit out of a golf ball.

Either way, e'eryone's now a Bubba fan. Had we all known he was really just a good 'ole boy that loved the Dukes of Hazard, mom with Mississippi roots and the fact that he has adopted a child - well, he would've had millions more cheering him on last weekend. As EsJay wrote: Tiger who?

Tuck Figer, I'm Bubba Golf all the way. I liked him a lot before but this weekend really showed what kind of genuine person he is. Big Bubba fan from here on out...

Did any redneck wannabe golfer really need any other reason besides his name to be a fan?

Great Masters and it was awesome seeing Bubba win. I just don't think he can win consistently enough to be the new face if golf. Hope Im wrong though.

That's whats nuts, he may not break out and win another major this year, but he is consistently in the top 15-20. That consistency is what vaulted him in the points after the masters win. He may can hang in there.
