I'll never forget, I was in a Hampton Inn in Dulles VA one night and called home. It was storming at home. My wife said "do you know where your dog is?" no, where? "he got in the dryer because he was scared of the thunder" This was my lab Gus. At the time he was over 100 pounds. She opened the dryer to put a load of clothes in, a clap of thunder hit and he got in and she had a helluva time convincing him to get out. It was hilarious. I dont think the dryer would have had the power to tumble him though.

It's hard to kill a dang cat....saw on the news last week where a cat fell 19 stories down, and only bruised a couple of ribs.

Cats fall from high rises often enough that it has been labeled "high rise syndrome" amazingly, most of them survive! This has actually been studied and its seems sometimes cats falling from higher distance survive better than falling from lower distance. And above a certain number of stories up, it doesn't matter how high they are. They will actually reach maximum velocity at some point and land on their feet.
