Ole Miss is going to be a beast to deal with it would appear as well. If they can host a regional, watch out. That home crowd is quickly becoming the best home crowd in the SEC. It has become fashionable in Oxford to attend baseball games and be loud.
Because there's nothing else to do in that godforsaken town.

Question for the board...better home atmosphere for a game right now...Ole Miss or State?

State, hands down, even if it's only 4000 people there.

I ain't taking the bait on this one. Well, maybe a little bit.......

Its really the "geritol, score keeping in your seat, polite clapping, bingo parlor crowd with the Taladega-esque outfield (minus the boobage)" at MSU vs the " loud, crowd participation, hip crowd with the beer drinking and beer spewing outfield (with the boobage)" at UM. Its not a tough call for me. Git in where ya fit in.
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Like Cam said, depends on who you asking... even though the boobage thing does not have a monopoly on it my friend :P

I would have to say OM right now because of the on the field product and you have momentum with a big home series. Flip that to state and this is debatable.

I haven't been to a game at either place (I realize that was a loaded question and I realize that I am in no position to vote one way of the other), but from TV highlights, Ole Miss looks far and away better at the moment. Moreover, (gasp) I think it can be argued that Ole Miss now has the better overall baseball facility since their renovation (gasp, gasp).

I'll give you a few reasons why Ole MIss has the better baseball atmosphere right now....... not 20 years ago.

I've been to baseball games at both fairly recently and here are some things i noticed, however subjective it may be.

1. The facilities at Ole Miss are newer and better, and the field is always in great condition. Last time I saw noble it looked like an intermural field.

2. The fan base, especially the student population, is more enthused about the baseball program than ever before. Each year has gotten better and better since I have been here.

3. More recent success in the recent past and present.

GH22 just can't accept things the way they really are.

Sure the fan base is enthused about baseball. There's nothing else there athletics wise worth going to. I've been to a bunch of games there. It's not the same as it is at State. The one good thing about Swayze Field is that there isn't a bad seat in the place because of it's size.

So Champ, can you now say that The Junction and Davis Wade are better? Be honest :)

Honestly..... No.

Gah it's fun hating you guys. (in a loving sort of way)

One reason i wish ole miss and state could compete for national titles in the big three year in and year out is so the rest of the country can see how good of an in state rivalry it is.

So if I say I've been to a bunch of games at both and Dudy Noble is nothing like Swayze...what's that an indictment of? Nobody ever gonna feel the same for their rival as they are for their home field regardless, your home park hits home with YOU in a way the other will not...the only fair comparison of this is some sort of sample of opinions derived from visiting college baseball fans to both parks, good luck finding that...but there is one place gets a lot of attention from on-lookers lately its atmosphere, just sayin'

Nice win by the Tigers last night, thought they were in trouble there in the 9th.

But for a boneheaded move by the UF player not to tag to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th, LSU probably loses that game. Of course, the ump gave Florida a run that should not have counted on the double play earlier in the game, so I guess it turned out equitable after all.

At worst, LSU will take 4 of 6 from Arkansas and UF in back to back weeks. I would never have believed that to be possible.
