It's not as easy as it looks. If you have plenty of land to work with, and an unlimited budget, you can build just about anything. Most of us don't have that to work with. The land itself mostly determines you design. In my case I was bordered by a small creek down the whole dam side, which added significant cost because of a 350' long dam.
You just have to work with what you got, and try and be sensible in the design. I didn't have enough room to build a true tech pond, so I tried to balance what I had. I would call it a training pond more so than a tech pond. Older master level dogs would wear it out pretty quick, but young dogs and HT dogs can do numerous things on it. It also lays out good for HT setups.
