Hard to compare apples and oranges. McCarren has a much better cast playing around him. You could put a lot of QBs in his spot and they would be successful, maybe not quite as good, but successful. Look at all the talent he has to play with…. two RBs that could start anywhere on any team in the country, an OL that is among the best in the country, and five star wideouts four classes deep. I'm not saying that Russell is better or worse, but he doesn't have nearly as much to work with as McCarren.

I don't recall a debate. I remember asking who had a better quarterback and stating that Russel had 15 TD's and 1 int coming in.
It's 15 and 2 now.
And that puts McCarron at 18 tds and 0 ints (I know it should be 1 int)
I am interested in purchasing duck calls that were made by Mike McLemore. I am a family member and they have a sentimental value.

By the way maybe shouldn't have said debate. Maybe should've said what got this thread going strong

This is exactly why Alabama is #1. That plus we can't catch a break. They are another national title team. This is what happens when you come in ranked, they set out to prove a point. My prediction is if Bama wins another national title they will be looking for another coach because Saben will head to the pros again.

Saban ain't going to the pros, been there tried that and didn't like. Plus he makes more money now! Keynon Drake is the real deal, he's a freshman boys and y'all will see him a few more times!

Only said pro because coaches are egotistical and always want more. Winning at college level is probably getting old to Saben. He is the best in the business.

Ms State is a good, middle of the pack SEC team and Bama is the best team in the country. There is nothing to be ashamed of when you lose to the most dominant team in college football. My main complaint is the penalties and mistakes. Special teams turned over the ball twice. If we played with more discipline it might have been 24-7 game.

As a State alum, I look forward to the next 4 games. These are the real match-ups. They should be exciting.

A few notes:

Would assume the Starkville Sanitation Dept. will work overtime over the next few days. Lots of 8-0 "We Believe" signs and Banners headed to the trash.

For the Bulldog Nation, maybe a better idea to await the game results before attacking the statues outside of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

If the losses begin mounting over the next few weeks and it is certainly possible, the Bulldog fanbase will begin to unravel. Those last 2 games will be a challenge for sure. Mullen may end - up on the "hot seat" after all.

Good luck the rest of the way, lots of football to go.
