Malzahn won a N.C., but he had Cam Newton and whether it's written on his resume, anybody with a sense of reality can not ignore that proverbial asterisk.
That is a fact Cam.

After the Vandy loss most OMers I know were practically jerking it to Malzahn and speaking of his future in Oxford like it was a done deal. Hard to hear that dream boy Gus is filling the spot of OM's new hire without wondering wtf when down to make it play out that way.

Go find a transcript of what his wife had to say in that recent interview. I think all the videos have been pulled. If you read what she had to say then you will understand why he took this job. I would imagine that he was told by the Auburn officials that he needed to find another job or he would be fired. Ark St was the best he could find right now. He could have landed a better job last year but his stock has plunged.

It was widely reported within the Auburn inner circles that Malzhan was not head coaching material. Especially at a large, high pressure programs like we have in the SEC.
This move to a lesser conference gives him the chance to hone his HC skills with little to no pressure. After a few years at the helm in Jonesboro he will either come back to Auburn or have a major coaching job somewhere in the SEC. That is the way the game is played.

He might even find his little buddy, Mike Dyer, on his new roster soon... :?

ole Miss has shallow minded fans too ;) Malzahn was never under consideration by anybody that matters. he would been horrible at Ole Miss and I dare say Vandy came out of their rejection smelling like a freaking rose too

question for the aubies on here:

Does it not worry you in the least bit that:

1. Your OC has left the program

2. Your DC has left the program

3. Your best RB has been given the proverbial axe.

4. Your second best RB is jumping ship.

It could all lead up to nothing but i think this is why Stang smells something fishy.

it's kind of like "ignorance is bliss"...in this case ignorance being actually oblivious...caused by "success blinders"...I liken it to the State fans view of Mullen b/c he talks hard and has beaten a terrible Ole Miss program and caught a terrible Michigan team in a perfect storm, ignoring the fact they aren't beating anyone in recruiting and finished 6-6 in year 3 with no real momentum and questions going into year 4...Auburn fans are living in the glow of the N.C. still and not choosing to recognizing the things that could be cause for concern or as Stang put it, a source of foul odor!

And before any of you throw out something about Ole Miss, cause I'm an Ole Miss fan...this isn't about Ole Miss...we suck, it's readily apparent and well documented and I've ignored the same signs as pointed ahead in order to maintain bliss with my team of choosing, my opinion is derived in personal experience.

Top 3 recruiting classes the last 2 years.

Chizik = Iowa state

Release another story on the trees to deter.

Repeat after me: "LSU is my real rival. LSU is my real rival."

Even when replying to a post about AU, you bring it all back to how much MSU and Dan Mullen suck. It's almost unhealty, Cam. :D

You bears are hilarious.

A terrible Michigan team...that went to a New Year's Day bowl.

You also use the adjective, terrible, to describe Ole Miss. Are those two teams equally terrible?? I don't see it.

Again, LSU is your "real" rival...

I can’t speak for the others, but I'm personally not worried. However; I only heard rumors of the black helicopter hovering over campus today, didn't see it in person.
1. Gus desired to be a HC. This was no secret. He's not ready to lead a major program....Period. Even Ole Miss knew that. Arkie St. is a good place for him to start. Going HOME means alot to some folks. We thank him for his service & wish him well.
2. Good riddance Ted. Have never been a fan & I hope he was axed to leave, really I do. Did you see his numbers this season?

3. Michael is on the dope, copped a tude before this season ever started, & was no longer a good fit. Wish him well & hope he get's his ducks in a row soon. If not, he'll never suit up again on the plains.

4. Ontario wants to weigh his options. I don't blame him or question his reasoning whatsoever. It makes perfect sense for him to do what he's doing.

I’m looking forward to 2014 actually. Why? You might ask. The last time we hired a new OC & DC in the same season, we went 14-0 two years later & won the BCS NC. The time before that when we replaced both coordinators, 2 years later was 2004……Undefeated! I like trends.
Now back to the regular scheduled Ole Miss / MS State debate.

LSU is Ole Miss biggest rival? Exactly how is that old beaten down debate in any way relevant to the subjects of this thread...Interesting that you two respond about something completely unrelated...I guess when you have nothing else to say, you have to come up with something??? Yes, I referred my Mullen comments directly back to the subject and questions posed about Auburn fans...so they were relevant 8)

That's called me winning, I'd say...
