Titan, Tundra, FX4
Re: Titan, Tundra, FX4
I've got the Chevy Crew 4 x 4 Z71 and get about 19-20 on hwy. Included is the deal where it drops to 4cyl on hwy. Second truck I've owned like this and no problems whatsoever. Most comfortable ride among the 3. I drive about 30k per year, so soft ride is important.

I have always been a GM man, we did have a Nissan Armada and loved that thing, gas sucked though. I now drive an 05 1500HD and gas really sucks in it but I love the truck IMO if your buying a truck simply for gas mikeage then you may be dissapointed. Most trucks are going to be within 1-2 mpg of each other. If your driving 1200 miles per month your talking about less than 20 bucks a month difference. For that kind of money you can pack a lunch once or twice a week and save that much money and drive the truck you like...

winter fuel blends from what I have read online. watch and see if it doesn't get better in about May or June.mfalkner wrote:Country, my Tundra is set up like yours and I used to get 18-19 but it has dropped down to 15-16. Driving habits the same, not sure what else might have changed.
I haven't noticed mine as bad this winter as I did last, but have noticed a small drop. May have something to do with different brands?

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra (new body style) crew cab, 4x4. I average around 17mpg with a 50/50 mix of street and highway with the stock tires. I recently went to larger tires and took a little hit or maybe its the "winter gas mix." Any reason you are getting away from GM?

Ford owner dreams of anything CLOSE to 18-19mpg... 10-11 in town or pulling my boat and 14 on the highway running 60-65mph..mfalkner wrote:Country, my Tundra is set up like yours and I used to get 18-19 but it has dropped down to 15-16. Besides that, the reason they get the better gas mileage is because they dont have an booty end in them...hook something to it and it balks like a pizzed off mule. Mine wouldnt pull chit....and we arent talking anything heavy....and it had the "bigger" rear-end of the Chevrolets. I got out of that POS as soon as I could and will never look back.

Totota and Nissan have to make thier entry level trucks pull, because they don't have another option. All three will pull any ATV trailer or duck boat you got easily.. But you start getting above the 6k-7k range in weight and your gonna want a heavy duty 250 or 2500 truck to pull a load like that comfortably.rbsdrake wrote: as far as pulling u aint gonna beat a tundra or titan, chevy is the worst

I run between 3,500 and 5,000 miles a month in an 08 GMC z-71. Computer in the truck says i average 17.5 across the board. I go 75-80 on the highway/interstate. The sticker said its supposed to average 20 but no luck there. No problems at all so far.
