Re: Thanks SFHRC family
I just gotta say thanks to everyone. On wednesday Im at the print shop picking up tshirts, and I get a call that one of my judges had an employee killed, and one of my other judges was riding with him (from texas gulf, too long a trip to make by yourself). In 20 minutes I had judges swapped out, to give everyone the same quailty I had promised (thanks ronnie and janet, and stan for swapping around so janet could leave a little earlier on sunday to get back to texas). No emergency, just some swapping... it was awesome. We couldnt cut brush on the grounds, but that little challenge seemed to energize everyone and we had brush laying around EVERYWHERE. The heat was going to be an issue with 95-98 temps forcasted, so my judges all took it into consideration when setting up there tests. Everytime something could have been an issue, it was CREAMED by our team, and that says a ton about the folks we got. David McClendon asked me thursday how many members we got, and I told him about 45... and he freaked. His exact words " ya'll make all this noise with that few people?". He couldnt belive what an effect we have on the national scene with that 'few' people (his club has 225 members!). Ronnie couldnt judge sunday, so i stepped in, and between tj, barlow driving on the hiway, and vires running my sandy dog, well all I can say is I was well represented. 500 on daisy was awesome... an HR on spooky puppy, followed by another pass with tj at the wheel (5 in a row) was awesome. Boudreux is going to the Grand, awesome. Tiffany is the handler to watch... heck shes the person to watch all the time! Tony Price worked like he was trying to get outta prison early... I gotta say hats off to my 'brother' as I bet a dozen people told me how hard he worked and that he ran as tight a ship as they have ever seen. I'm so proud of my club, my friends, my family... I was so happy to be able to bring mr Bobby Williams back (our orignal field rep), play a gag on margo with his help, and let everyone 'new' meet him. He was impressed Friday, but by saturday afternoon he was blown away. He had no ideal there was still clubs that where like us... and he told me he was very proud of what we had become. That means a lot.

Re: Thanks SFHRC family
I could go on and on... glen judging with one wing busted... barlow willing to get silly with me to raise money for our kids day next year. The 100 people that came saturday night, and ate with us, watched kids run dogs with us, and prayed with us... It mind numbing the effort and hart so many people put into this event, and Im so proud people appreicated and told member after member thanks for what ya'll are doing. Every single person sunday afternoon seemed to have a story where someone thanked them in a way they where surprised. riggins broke a leaf spring sat morning, and marty newport was willing to go get him and his dogs and shuttle them around... cousin eddy was willing to help get parts or a torch ar anything else ness to get it going. It was almost like people where waiting for a challenge, something to come up so they could overcome it. Just awesome to see.
Brother gene, your cooking is one of the biggest things we've got going for us. Thank you.
Tony, first time hunt chair... it wont be your last.
Chris, first time hunt secetary... see what I told tony. Ha. you guys rocked. Ms cris was a big help at check in, and wanted give props to her.
I think the thing I enjoyed the most this weekend, was seeing new people get involved and having fun, working their butts off. Gordon, charles, chuck and charlie, anne and dennis, mr mitchel? Im sorry I dont remeber his name that was in finished... they workd, AND had fun, and that sets the stage for everyone.
Thanks to eveeryone that pitched in! travis

Travis it was great being able to come up and run. Didn't make it either day but had a great time. Never know what dog comes out of the truck. We really enjoyed Friday night drinking session and was a little tired on Saturday, but that goes with getting old. Thanks SF for giving everyone a really nice time and the Finish test rocked. Really nice to see test out there with no tricks or crazy setups.

Good thing Travis and Johnny were wearing diferent colored shoes. Getting hard to tell them apart.
Gosh what a wonderful weekend! Hope that you guys enjoyed the Margo and Glenn show. Sure was nice to judge with someone better looking than me for a change.
Southern Flight does it again, always has. Finest group of guys that I have ever been associated with.
You guys just get ready for the big show in Grenada next spring. Gonna be a doozy.

Re: Thanks SFHRC family
and for all the haters that put side money on barlow, nah nah nah! I smoked him. I knew his stradgey, to push me and make me loose a shoe. No way was I falling for that... speaking of falling, when he slide coming around the pole and hit the ground, there was a tsumnai in bangladesh that tipped a ferry over... 7 years of trash talking about a foot race between us, was good for some closure to walk backwards across the finished line! ha. travis

Travis, now you know my money was on you but I hate to tell you this.....but until he went down Johnny had you beat!!! I haven't laughed that much in a really long time.
SFHRC and their crew is absolutely the best! Each and everyone of you knows what its all about and it shows. The food was awesome, even if I didn't get any beans on Sunday out in the field!!!
This is going to have to be on my regular list of hunts to go to each and every year. Love you guys.
