well, I'm married with a daughter and I get the question, why you turned down going to the lease with so and so. or I think I'm going to have alot of spare time once Aubrie starts asking "Daddy take me fishing" or "daddy take me hunting".

Oh and my wife isn't a hunter, nor anyone in her family hunts.

about 31 years ago I told one that wanted to get "serious" that I was an avid hunter and fisherman...I told her "if I want to go hunting or fishing, I am going and am not asking for permission. If that's going to be a problem we need to settle it now." She looked me right in the eye and said "will you take me with you when you go?".....so we have been hunting and fishing together for over 30 years....there is nothing I can think of or imagine that I'd take for her....I got one of the good ones and try to tell her so every day.........chip

I have it made in that department of relationships. 6.5 years and she hasn't changed a bit. Its always "six a day everyday".

Gotta love the good ones.

I think the real surprise here is that you have a girlfriend in the first place.......

My wife has never had a problem with it. I don't abuse it though. If one of the kids is sick and puking their guts up I'm not bailing on her while I go hunting even though she's told me to go. In all seriousness you have to remember that when you get married and have kids you have a resoponsibility that is greater than duck hunting. If you don't want the responsibility then stay single. That's not to say you give it up and change when married. It just means you have to weigh it with other things and sometimes those other responsibilities win out. If you have a girl who is bitchin' about you going all the time though dump her and find one who also respects you for being you as you respect her for being her. I don't know if that makes sense but it will after you have been married.

I think if I had trouble before I got married, I would probablly run. You throw marriage and kids into the equation it gets harder.

That's great. That's the way my dad and his fiance are. Personally I like my hunting time to get away from the ol' lady. Just my .02 I guess I just can't ever find the good ones that I want to be with every time I go out that front door...
