If looking for an estimating position, you may need to look at a smaller salary prior to gaining experience in commercial estimating. I wish you the best of luck on your job search, and hope you prove me wrong.

I do understand the lack of experience, and would be willing to take a cut in pay to do something I enjoy, doesn't necessarily have to be estimating. I know it's tough out there and I am very thankful, especially having a family to feed and a little one on the way. I would really like to get into the construction industry because its something I've always enjoyed. I have dabbled in several different trades on the residential side and hope one day to go into business for myself. I'm looking into going back to school and taking construction management. Hopefully the degree will get my foot in the door somewhere. Thanks for any help you guys offer.
