Whats the coolest band story youve heard of.
last year there was a guy hunting with some people in the delta and he shot a ring neck. someone picked his bird up for him and it had a band on it. he left right then to take it to the taxaderme, a few days later the tax. called him back to make sure he wonted it mounted, he said yes b/c it was his first band. the tax. said that the band came off one of those cheap calls and was not real!!!!!
last year on the road to our camp which runs along the bayou there was a pair of mallards that would just swim to the other side every time we rode by. we had all of the water in the world but warm weather. we had killed plenty of dove all day during the late season after christmas and decided to stalk the ducks. after a couple of bud heavys we decided that i would ride in the back of the truck on top of the cooler and when we passed the ducks we would stop and take a shot. we rode by and they swam to the other side I killed the drake and crippled the hen. we drove to the camp and got the dog the cripple swam but we got the drake it had a band 11 years old and cracking. banded in saskatchewan

Ouch you just documented yourself as a road hunter!!! Wonder if this could be used in court as testimony?

In college we took a friend of ours hunting for the first time. He really didn't know how to shoot that well so we did an afternoon woody shoot. My friend and I hunted one spot, and our buddy took the newcomer to another spot for easier shooting. The first flock had three woodies in it, and the newcomer shot three times and killed two of them - both banded. He even gave them to my friend, said he had no need for a couple pieces of metal off a duck.

Back when I was in junior high, I played the saxaphone in the NSA Rebel high school marching band. This one time at the state band competition in Jackson, during concert sight reading, we had been standing at attention for so long waiting to take the stage in front of the judges, that I passed out for about a minute or two after sitting down in my chair. When I woke up, I was leaning against a rather robust, buxom tenor sax player sitting beside me, with my head firmly against her very large left breast. Embarrassed, I quickly and frantically found where we were on the sheet music, and jumped in, hoping that she would not mention this to me or anyone else. A quick glance her way during the performance revealed a smirky smile on her face ---I think she enjoyed it.
How is that for a band story.

I shot a swan once with a 30-06. Didn't have a band though.

I started duck hunting about 3 years ago. First hunt I had ever been ona and I was using a borrowed pair of waders. The first woodduck of the morning came in and landed behind us and the two guys that I was hunting with let me shoot. We left it floating out there until we were finished hunting that morning b/c the dog didnt see. When I finally got my duck, it was banded. The cool thing was was that it was banded in Alabama, New York and we were hunting close to the Tombigbee in Alabama.
But I did shoot him off the water...

I was hunting with a group and a pair of woodies dropped on the far side of the dekes about 45 yds out. As normal I waited for them to shoot because everyone knows how hard it is to kill themon the water. First guy jumps up and soots and roll both woodies, they did not even flap. We waited for them to float into the boats and picked them out of the water about 30 minutes later. We hunted for about another 3 hrs and on the way back I look down and see the band. The guy that shot him was in the boat behind me. I held up the drake and showed him the band.
