you got that right, i shot a nice 8 point when i was about 16 and was still learning the dos and donts of hunting. I let me bleed out, or atleast i thought he did. Got up to him and he charge at me, only thing that save me from getting a nice scar was the fact i had shot him in the neck and his head keep catching the ground. Any animal that is wounded is more dangerous, cause its gone from run mode, to ive got to defend my booty. Dont particuarily like the way this guy hunts but what is he going to do when he has a misfire one day.

Play with fire long enough and you'll get burned.
One day he'll throw that cannon up and blink and get an eyelash or drop of sweat in his eye. Or stumble on some elephant $#!+ and fall. I wonder if that footage will be re-played?

Softcall, I can weigh in on the matador perspective.I fought bulls for a living , during this time I actually got to some mexican bullfights. Mexican bullfights are kids play compared to american bullfights or standing in the path of a cape.
First mexican bulls weigh an average of 900 pounds vs 1700 to 2200 for a grown cape. Lot more coming at you.
Second, mexican bullfights only happen after the bull has been stabbed repeatadly and run by mexican cowboys on horseback. Given a cape has been shot but in most cases he hasn't suffered the bllod loss of a mexican.
Third and most important. In a mexican or american bullfight you've got people there to divert his attention and get him off of you. With a cape, the chances of somebody sticking around close enough to get him off of you are rare.
Not saying I totally agree with the public display this guy is selling. But I still have a huge amount of respect for someone that has the nerve to remain focused in such a situation.

"If you properly respect what you are after, and shoot it cleanly and on the animal's terrain, if you imprison in your mind all the wonder of the day from sky to smell to breeze to flowers--then you have not merely killed an animal. You have lent immortality to a beast you have killed because you loved him and wanted him forever so that you could always capture the day."--Robert Ruark
Killing an animal that you've puposely wounded to create a charge doesn't make you a man or a hunter.

say what you want
say what you want!
im sure any one on this board can go to africa and kill a cape with a high powered rifle. but what makes this guy so bad is that he takes the camera man and his crew out there into the BEASTS element. he aint shooting from not jeep. if some of you saw some of the deer we trailed you would say its "unethical" but sometimes ethics doesn't matter in the wild. sometimes you have to kill something or be killed. wheather you shoot it, stab it, hang it, out smart it. sometimes you just gota do what it takes. if that ain't hunting then i don't know what is. if high ballin safari gurus don't like him thats because they are too scared to try what he does. and for a wounded cape charging you. notice that he is shot right behind th shoulder just shows you how bad of an animal they are!

I understand that bad shots happen. Sometimes we cripple animals when we meant to kill them. At that point, everything is about finding the animal as soon as possible and killing it.
If this guy is purposely wounding animals so that he may shoot them at close range just so that he can make a movie proving his manliness, he has soared over the ethical line. I don't care how big yall think his nuts are.

Sometime's ethics doesn't matter because it always matters. Look at that friggin hole in the side of that cape and the blood coming out of it's nose.
I am with mottlet and wing shot 1 on this.
Sheesh - there would have to be a certified matador out there...in comparison, those capes are worn friggin out. They run forever until they get in the thick stuff...through swamps...in the wide open. This guy wounds these animals, wears them down, and shoots them as they charge using their last bit of energy. Yeah he is different than anyone else because he is the only P-U-S-S out there with a set of balls. I don't respect him for nothin'.
And I can tell you that the folks who dog his booty out are the same ones that stalk these bad boys on foot....not from a jeep.
I rate him right there with the http://www.dogbegone.com idiot.

safari
whats all this talk about freaking matadors anyway?
i think if the guy purposfully wounded game he would have shot that cape buffalo some where else besides the vitals!
and softcall you are right ethics "always" matters excepts when a cap buffalo is chasing you!
just because the guy hunts different than all the other safari outfitters doesn't exactly make him unethical in my opinion it makes him extreme. ever herd of tred barta, he hunts with a long bow, thats not very ethical, a compound, or a rifle for that fact is much more effective and more humane to take a animal with, but Tred Barta does it his way, because thats the way he likes it!
when you call people hunters and killers, this guy is a hunter, because in return he is being hunted!
