+1. I have pondered that thought before. If and when(how many hundreds-thousands of years) will it take before it is not so fertile. I'm sure this could be a huge debate surounding others opinions on that

I wouldnt want to get caught poaching on buzzard, we farm land that joins it and gets flooded by it, Strider( my bosses 1st cousin) and Dunavant will break someone from the poaching habit in a hurry, and no, even when the river is flooded you can not hunt buzzard with out permission, actually now that some work has been done , it will take very high water to get into buzzard from the river via Possum bayou.

With all the chicken chit, lime and tilling in organic matter we do, the fertility of the delta is very good.

This should only be attempted by the most bold and brazen individuals.
It takes stealth, gile, and cunning.........not necessarily in that order.

Sounds like a rookie mistake...........he should have stolen the owners boat then he wouldnt have been worried bout the hole...

Deer, ducks, coons, doves, rabbits....just enough of them around to wet ones whistle enough to keep a young guy out of the poaching business....but the elusive ridge walking, thunder gobbling, crusty toe roosting wild turkey??? Hmmm, when I was a younger lad.................

Honestly...up until about early 1990s...very little poaching was done in the Tallahatchie County area...at least by locals in my part of the county...you just hunted where ever ducks were...your land, neighbors land, his neighbors land....much simplier times. I killed a big buck one morning (88 or 89) and was glad two of my neighbors were duck hunting the brake from which the island I killed the deer on was sitting. Never crossed my mind to ask what are yall doing hunting those ducks in our brake. What did come to mind was that they looked like they had an awesome hunt by the looks of the green they were toting and I did not have to lug this deer out by myself. They heard me shoot and decided to investigate. Made my day! Too bad this generation of our sons and grandsons will not experience that "community" belonging we did growing up. Sure there were a few properties scattered here and there that were "no-no" places, but by and large it was a great time with much space to chase critters in. Are a few younger boys...hmm, younger men around home hunting or rotating around on each others property together chasing waterfowl these last two years. Hopefullly they continue to do so.

Swag, them was the good ole days, we wont every see them again, i remember Granmaw asking the Yorks
( York woods )if i could hunt there place and them telling her i could anytime i wanted to, used to hunt from Brazile to Tippo, anywhere i saw ducks i could hunt. I remember going out at nite to check out a strange light only to end up coon hunting with the guys when we found them.
