My lab stays inside every night. Couple years ago I thought the dog was acting out because she would start barking in her kennel about 30 minutes after all the lights went out. Turns out we had a mouse that was coming out from underneath the dishwasher and going to the laundry room where the dog food is stored passing in front of her kennel along the way. Light would go out, mouse would come out, and she would go to barking. I didn't figure this out until one night the lights were off in the rest of the house, and I was watching tv in the bed room with the dog on the floor. Well the mouse ran in front of the open bedroom door into the laundry room. I ran the mouse out of the laundry room with the dog waiting at the door. The dog chased it around the living room and under the tv stand. Again, I ran it out and the chase continued. Despite our efforts, it got away. I set out traps the next day, but never caught anything. Never had issues with her barking after that.quackerkiller wrote:They say if you have a cat or dog inside, they will stay away due to being able to smell the inside pets....not because they stink, but because it's a predator...????? I have two inside and never see a mouse, or any sign of them...maybe a coincidence...
