No I was not in a tree house. I just got out of the traffic leaving the game.
Coach Freeze was in a bad situation on the last drive. Lots of people wanted Brunetti in the game at the end to run the ball. I did not!!!! If you run the ball with 3 minutes left and only one timeout it would have been hard to get in field goal range without the clock running out. Brunetti had already hurt his throwing shoulder on the play out of bounds and could not throw the ball (thank goodness because eventhough he threw 2 TD's I have no confidence in him throwing it) If he brings Brunetti in and we lose, everyone grips about why he didn't have his starting QB in the game at the end. This one was not Wallace fault!!!!! In the end Freeze had the right call. If the 2nd down pass was caught he was bringing Brunetti in to run the ball. It all comes down to not making plays at the end.
Now if you go back and look, I said if Ole Miss beats Vandy they go 9-3. I figured 3-3 at this point as I was counting a road win and loss at Auburn and Texas with losses to Bama and A&M. I then picked a win over LSU and that we run the table at that point. Whew - Not near as sure today as I was before the season but I will stand by my picks. Ole Miss upsets LSU this weekend and runs the table against Idaho, a terrible Arkansas team, Troy, Missouri (without Franklin) and the bull pups (who better beat Kentucky or they don't win another game.
If Ole Miss runs the table or even wins 5 of 6 everyone will be talking about how hot a team they are at the end of the season and will not talk about the fact they played 3 top 10, 1 top 25 and 4 out of first 5 games on the road. It amazes me how many sports fans cant look and a schedule and analyze a team. (We Believe)
