after the day has past...I am revising...

Kentucky is off the board now...with Mark Stoops

SO...I guess now...

Tennessee/Auburn - Petrino/Mullen (either or, probably depends how the Petrino deal shakes...I wanna say more AU-Petrino and Mullen-TN cause I find it harder for TN to take a shot on the character and reputation of Petrino...don't know why just a thought)
Arkansas - Charlie Strong or Butch Jones

Miss State - Kirby Smart or Sonny Dykes

Not happening.

Again....Slive and his "no sec to sec head coach theft" edict won't let this happen.

I'd take that bet.

Will not happen.....period.

If it does, I'll eat crow, but it will not happen. If it hasn't happened since he took over, it won't now.
He's been on the record as saying he won't allow head coach inter-sec changes in football.

Will it happen in any current scenarios...I don't know...maybe never has to call his hand, maybe he enforces it if it is....but I'd bet you anything if a scenario ever unfolded where a big boy wanted another lesser schools coach it would happen...I don't know what makes you have such faith in the mans word...he's as crooked as the day is long.

Not so much his word, but moreorless the word of people who have a lot more credibility than Slive that vouch for his edict. I mean you are right, it probably COULD happen. But I really feel fairly confident from the people I have spoken to in the AD that it is very unlikely.

The offer was made and on the table for Les Miles as of noon today, not jargon or fluff it was there...it appears according to latest news he has negotiated a new deal with LSU and is staying, press conference pushed an hour while they complete negotiations...however had he chosen to accept Arkansas offer it was there and on the table. Not sure what SEC or Slive would've done to stop it.

Yeah I don't really see how Slive could stop it, not that Miles was going to leave anyway. Only way Miles leaves is fired or decides to try the NFL, which I don't think the NFL is going to come calling anytime soon.

problem is semantics...reality and unspoken truths...LSU can't let Miles go or fire him unless he really messes up, he's won too much. Reality is he's in a hard to lose situation, and a lot of LSU fans realize what could be...for what I think of Miles, I do think he is smart enough to realize where he is and what he has, he's been good with that throughout 8 years. I can't see how Arkansas could've ever believed they'd get him if Michigan couldn't...fact is they tried and they tried pretty hard according to those numbers.

i personally think Ark should be really happy if he renegotiates with LSU and stays in baton rouge...he'd be about what Houston Nutt was at Arkansas.

report now is Les Miles at the microphone in 15 min

Slive works for the SEC member schools not the other way around. If Miles steps down at LSU how could Slive legally stop him? If he signs a contract with Arkansas how can Slive legally stop him? I believe it would have to be an official conference rule and be voted on and approved by the Presidents/Chancellors of each member university. Does that rule exist?

I believe Slive was the commish when Cohen left Kentucky for MSU. I bet there have been other head coaches change schools within the SEC in the past couple of years in smaller sports. Does this just apply to football?

he couldn't legally stop it, but I think he would push around smaller schools if he didn't want them to do something...I don't think he'd stand in the way of any big SEC money men, or top tier programs...you're right Slive works for them but he is in charge, like a GM/owner relationship, he knows who he can boss and who he can't and how much muscle he can flex..and those people also know what to what level they have to stand in line...that's what I think.

My other thought about Les Miles, as I listen to the talk on radio about him. Moscona is making people justify comment like mine, "who would do what Miles has done? Don't throw an accusation without justifying it..." Well, you can't answer that...just like you couldn't have said, with any real evidence that Miles coming from OK State would be as successful as Nick Saban. So, there is no evidence, but if you watch college football, in my opinion there are a lot of coaches out there that could do what Miles is and has done at LSU if given the chance, the blueprint doesn't take a valedictorian to read...that's the unsaid/unspoken part of it. Les Miles is living right, all i can say, and he's doing his job in a way that he deserves to keep it, kuddos and credit to him for that...as a rival fan, I'm glad he's staying and nobody like Petrino, Jones, Golden, Franklin, and several others aren't gonna get a shot to prove me wrong.

I have heard that there is an internal struggle at Auburn over Petrino and Jimbo Fisher. University officials want Fisher and the money men(Bobby and crew).
