Stick with what you know. Due to my lack of ability to hit a duck I am that guy that will try any gimmick to improve my chances. I have shot a case of Blindside and a case of Remington Hyper-Sonic. Blindside did not perform any better than standard shot, and Remington Hyper-Sonic the pattern was so bad that i gave away my last 4 boxes.

shot half as much, wet ragged mallards at 40yds! havent seen that before with any other ammo.

If you want some oddly shaped shot, just buy Winchester xperts you get many weird shapes and sizes, and they are 10 yen( zoo to be used in the USA)cheaper a box.

They are a little more expensive, but not much more than the blind sides per case. Blind sides (3.5 2s $239.99/case, hevi-metal 3.5" 2s 249.99/case)
So, actually only about $.03!

Also, if u have a better kills per shot ratio, then the price actually goes down!

I've never shot 3.5's at ducks. 3" and sometimes 2.75". I just can't come off of the money for the 3.5's.

But, I do shoot 3.5s almost exclusively!

think they are alot like BC, gotta lighten up on the choke, and they will destroy a duck close in due to the wad staying with the shot longer.

read an article bout it the other day, it said light mod choke was recommended, wad stripping chokes were detrimental to performance, i have shot BC's and they work really well on longer shots and will remove body parts at 20 yrds and closer. i liked the kill performance, but prefer not to mutilate my game so i went back to cheap shells and tight choke, its a compromise, but allows a little more versatility on shot ranges.

I cleaned a honker a couple of weeks ago that had a 'blindside' pellet just under the skin. on one wing. That's a testimonial to the fact that some folks think that if you buy and shoot ammo perported to be devastating - they'll try longer shots than their equipment or their skills are capable.

If that bird had been in a killable range - and the ammo had performed up to it's billing......that pellet shoulda broken the wing and that woulda been a bird in somebody else's bag. I killed it with standard velocity Drylock 2's .......some old ammo I took up there to use-up on ducks. When the geese work close like we like'em......we can afford to use-up 'now-inferior' grade ammo. Yeah, whatever.....

Whatever the case, it pays to match the ammo to the particular hunting situation (and style).......and shoot within the limits of your skills and equipment.

So are you shooting xperts, Randy? I've shot a few over the years after shooting mainly Dryloks for many years. Honestly, I haven't shot a half a case of shells in the last 3 or 4 years combined.

Yes......Xpert HV (3" - 1550pfs - 1-1/8oz). If I'm in a situation where a little more insurance is needed......or if I expect the geese might not 'finish' in, close........I'll use the black ones.....i.e. 'Supremes'

You can put more "shot" in for the same weight of payload only by making the shot size smaller. Damn physics!
