Be respectful on Public Land
Re: Be respectful on Public Land
there's a big difference in getting cross with someone and beating some one down with a boat paddle. personally, there's not a duck hole in the world worth risking life, limb or freedom over. if cooler heads can't prevail in a confrontation so as to avoid resorting to physical violence, then mama and daddy have failed to teach their kids right from wrong and how to treat others.Trip wrote:Wow... so is there a ladies only wma most of you frequent so as not to get cross with anyone? Or do you see someone coming in late and pick your decoys up and move to avoid any sort of confrontation when they set up too close?

66 ducks? this ain't a fish pond we're hunting. We killed mallard limits with a couple scraps thrown in. You'll have your pictures after the season is over...

Re: Be respectful on Public Land
If it was my dad, brother or best bud, I'd say they learned a valuable lesson and prolly won't be calling strangers in the woods before daylight MFers anymore. This is the unwritten code of the Arkansas public duck woods. IMO, the guy that got hit with the paddle prolly knows he was in the wrong now.levi127 wrote:Would you say he deserved it if it was your dad, brother or best bud? All over him calling someone a MFer? Heck ive been called worst!
What gets me is its like no one cares about him being sucker smacked by a paddle. Think of how many arguments youve been in over a spot or something. Been funny then if you were on the receiving end?
Another thing is how these guys from MS handled it. Yall are middle aged men and some of you have young kids and married. Guess yall set a good example for your fellow hunters and families. Thanks
Isnt this assault with a deadly weapon also? It just didnt happen and aimed to hit at a certain spot. Like using a baseball bat.

Griz, I as well as several others on here have shot a 12 man 72 duck limit and had that paddle pusher Trip with us. It can happen and usually the pictures of great hunts don't surface until later.

Trip, your attorney friend that was with you when this happened was ok with the paddle buddy behavior?
And I just want to make something clear. I do not intend these questions or comments in any derogatory/offensive manner. I simply like hearing people's perspective and points of views in situations like this one. I doubt I'll ever be able to truly figure out what goes through some of my clients' heads as I read a police report, watch police video or hear their side of the story. Just like to see where people stand I guess.

I want to know just when swatin someone across the head with flat 3/8 inch of wood equals attempted murder charges? Or equals beating somone with a baseball bat. Dam folks yall do know what a sculling paddle is dont you? I would suppose the guy didnt have nails and chit sticking out one end. Pretty sure it aint a deadly weapon. Just like getting bich slapped from a little distance.
