Question for you Dad's

Postby Unlucky Duck » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:53 am

I know this is off the beaten path, but I have a daughter who is going to be 4 and seems she has been to every kind of birthday party imaginable. Lookin for ideas, what have you done for your kids in the past or what was one of the coolest birthday ideas/parties they have attended. Thanks for brainstorming with me.

My litle girl has been a tom boy up until now. She will be 8 the 24th and this will be the first b'day party with just girls and they are having a spend the night, beauty salon, hair, makeup, nails, blah blah blah thing. Up until this party it was all bowling, fishing, swimming, the jumping blowup deals, stuff like that.

Mississippi Cheer Academy is a good place for a party. They have several inflatables and huge space to run around. Also, the indoor pool at the Flowood YMCA is a good one. We've done both and my kids really enjoy them.

Mine's turning 7 next month. She has had pretty simple parties up to now, with the upcoming party being the same. There is a little local place
that does the corn maze, hay ride, weenie roast type stuff. Her 7th will be there. We did the inflatable for her 6th bday party, and they played on it about
20 minutes and was done. A 4 year old may like the blow up a little more. She had an inflatable for her 4th (I believe) and they had a blast. One of her friends is having a party around the same time next month, they are getting her a limo and going to the movies with all her friends. 7 and 8 year olds tho, so the limo might be much for a 4 year old.

All depends on what the inflatable is. I rent them and there are some blowups that adults like even. The regular jumper is best for kids 5 and under though, anything after that they get bored pretty quick. (Unless they are boys wanting to have a wrestling theme party and the jumper makes a great wrestiling ring)

Was the monkey named Boo Boo or Bobo? I remember hearing stories of a monkey in Greenwood... this monkey didn't like for a man to look him in the eye, thought you were sizing him up for a fight. I got some friends with great stories about this monkey.

my daughter, who had the monkey, is 18 now...it was prolly her 3rd or 4th b'day. we met the monkey's owners in a park in jackson one summer. they were letting kids take pics with it. it took to my daughter big time...would pick at her hair and sit on her shoulder. we asked them if they did parties and they said sure. then when we told them we lived in carroll county their smile went away.....it cost me an extra $50 for gas(total 175) but it was worth it

the monkeys name was "puddin' he was the kind of monkey on the tv show 'friends'

a capuchin.......have no idea how to get in touch with them now or if puddin is still alive..

When my little girl was 4 we had a tea party for her and her crew of little friends. There was a lady up here in Desoto county that would come to your house, provide the dress-up clothes, and all the fancy stuff that comes with a tea-party. The girls loved it..
