Questions for other owners of Mallard Machines

Postby HighBrass7s » Thu Jan 16, 2003 2:32 pm

I just got my MM, and im using it late in this season(in the marsh). My questions are: When are you turning your MM on?( when your working ducks or to try and get there attention) Are you using if in bursts? Are they responding to it, how? Thanx for your time.

High B,

We use ours just like a duck call.. Hit it hard to get their attention.. Then when they start working, just bump it at their tips and tails.. That usually does the trick.. I'll even pop it some when they're looking, but just barely enough to move the decoys..

Good luck.. It's a good tool for movement on those relatively still days..
Son, let me shoot next time..

I've been hunting with the MM since they came out. I mainly use it to get their attn. After i have their attn, I use it in short bursts.
some mornings the MM seems to bring them in closer, and other morning it seems to scare them away! to be honest, i can't figure out if it is beneficial or not, but if i had to say whether or not it is effective, I would say that it helps more than hurts! Just don't overuse it.

I've got 4 of them MMs, They have worked better this year than any other year. I just bump'em. It really seems to work great in the early mornings.

Nothing beats where the ducks want to be
