Waterfowler.com
I hope no one takes this as promoting the competition, but has anyone joined waterfowler.com and if so, what are your thoughts?
I have been to their website a few times and it has some pretty good info on it. I also recently received my free copy of the quarterly magazine and enjoyed it. They have a pretty good deal now where when you join you get a free Primos duck call and goose call and you get a membership to Delta as well.
(NO I DO NOT WORK FOR WATERFOWLER.COM NOR DO I RECEIVE ANY COMPENSATION FROM THEM.)

I've been a member over there for years and yes it is worth every cent.
Now as far as the MS talk goes. Well I am a native of MS and I happen to think that what Trent did was wrong. We should let science and biology decide our seasons not elected officials.
Back to the point, they are also always giving away BIG stuff. Trips to Argentina, this years its New Zeland I think, boat motors and all kind of stuff.
Heck the member discounts alone are worth it.
PM me if you want to know more about it. I don't want to take up too much msducks space.

Oh yeah. I happen to know they like MS folks. Why? They featured my families camp in thefirst issue of their magazine. I got to write the piece and hunt with several of the guys from their opperation. Nicest folks you would ever want to know.
Heck they even got another MS boy as thier food editor.

Waterfowler.com publicly bashed MS last year and called us a bunch of "terrorists". It was an inappropriate use of the term and an unfair depiction of MS waterfowlers. This was published right after the 9/11 attacks and the article was distasteful.
The editor (I always write one when I disagree on something) was a complete pompous ass and believed that his comments were completely appropriate.
I'll be happy to re post the letter that he sent me.....I doubt that anyone will hit the link again after reading it. The editor of the site is unprofessional and out of his league when it comes to running a forum catering to duck hunters across the nation.
I may not agree with the tactics that were used by elected officials to get extensions on season dates (if they are in fact true statements), but I’ll be damn if I would cast a negative persona over the state of Mississippi’s duck hunters because of my personal opinions. He did just that IMHO.
as an FYI his email address is jmoline@waterfowler.com - he is an idiot.

Softcall,
I am going to look it up but I do not remember him calling anyone terrorists. The line as I remember it was "Season framework hijacked by power politics"
Now if you do not know Trent held the NATIONAL budget hostage and refused to allow any new appointments to the DOE unless MS, my home state, got the extended season. Tat was WRONG, period.
Trent Lott has NO buisness butting into the process of setting seasons, and further more it was totaly out of line for him to hold the nations budget hostage to accomplish that.
Dislike the termonology if you want but Trent was out of line.

MB - I'll try to post his letter to me...plain as day "terrorist" was used and I do dislike the terminology. I don't agree with the political side of the debate but come on...."terrorist" is a little bit excessive don't you think? Poor editorial judgement.....that's the bottom line.

MB - my memory fails me. Terrorist was not used.

Thanks for admitting your mistake. Seems to me more like your issue was about wanting the long season though, from what I read.
I do not see how from his letter that you can make such statements about his character. But hey everyone has the right to thier opinion.
If you have any desire to debate the Framework extentions I'd be happy to talk science with you but this thread has gotten way off base.
I happen to like the folks there and will continue to support their efforts. Do as you feel you must.
But lets not attack people and credit them with words they did not use.
