We worked several groups of 10 or more birds, only got 1 group to commit, they all landed about 60 yards behind us..these birds made 2 passes and that was it....didn't get a bird out of them...since they lit so far behind us. All ours that we killed were pairs up to about 5 birds...Everything should have been perfect, only all the birds that came in early, came in bass-ackwards...so we changed our location to accomodate for this. Then the dang things came in the way they were suppose to for the old location...Got one bird to commit...put his butt on the water...out of a group of 25 or so (the rest of them left)...Shot him, picked him up...moved back to original location and didn't have another group look at us all morning. We knocked another greenhead down that we aren't counting...by that I mean we brought home 6 greenheads and 2 hens...plus knocked the other greenhead down. I can say this...we didn't see nowhere near the birds we saw 2 weeks ago THAT was awesome!!! I do know that there are thousands of acres of flooded fields, timber, sloughs etc etc that aren't normally wet and that may have to do with not seeing too many birds. I also hate building a blind and having to hunt 50 yards from it because the birds are acting silly. Having to lug all that mud, walking over stumps etc etc when I shoulda been warm an snuggly in the blind!!!
