Re: NW FL Gulf Coast Duck ID
Did these ducks fly just above the water most of the time. If so, they are Buffleheads. However, I have never seen large groups of Buffleheads. Possibly Merganzers?
Yes, when they would fly, they would fly low to the water, but not in large groups (5-!%), but there were several different size ...

NW FL Gulf Coast Duck ID
I was spec fishing today, in Pensacola, Fl and saw alot of diver ducks, but couldn't get close enough to see exactly what kind they were. The majority had a dark head, white chest and dark wings. They were in small and large groups, flying low on the water. They would get up, fly low, then sit back ...

You can also use PVC pipe. Two inches round, 18- 24 inches in length (depending on water height and mud height). Black or brown spray paint on the PVC. Pound it into the mud and place the cane in the PVC. This will help stabilize the cane.

Re: Timber Blinds?
Try to find an older, smaller pontoon boat. They typically have seating available. You can tie it off at the bow and stern, as well as the port and starboard side (depending on how and wher you postion it). Drape it with netting. Put the deadfall in the netting, the sides and all over. The one we ...

Hunt the rice specific to the ducks you want shoot: white rice for American ducks, yellow rice for hispanic ducks, fried rice for Asian ducks, brown rice for African ducks and don't forget long grained rice for well endowed drakes.

A pintail stnding on driftwood preening itself is a cool mount. Check out www.wildaboutfowl.com. They are located in Birmingham, Al. They do great work, but it takes a good while to get the trophy back. I'm not sure of the prices, but they may have them on the website. Congratulations.
