The people that are killing ducks this year are just getting lucky. There are no ducks, other than pockets here and there, that people are killing on a consistent basis. I've talked to hunters that hunt the primest of prime hunting spots ...

When you hunt there, do you lay on the bank? or is there enough cover in the ponds themselves to crouch down & hide under the coffee-weed, etc.

I've never hunted there but a buddy of mine has asked me to go next weekend.

I was wondering if there is a site online where one can go to find the public hunting places in MS. I know you can go to the link on this site that shows the WMAs, but from what I've seen, not all public places are listed - i.e. - Askew, etc. - & some other under the radar places.

Went to check things out around Chotard/Albermarle lakes north of Vicksburg. Counted 15 or so ducks the whole time. Mainly rode & looked around. Another group with us killed one Woody & a Merganzer. Slim numbers from my account. Rode Steel Bayou & put out trot lines. Caught about a 50 lb. tabby cat ...
