I have not noticed a whine in mine, no more than the whine of my golf cart. I sneek up on deer all the time on mine in broad daylight. They dont seem to hear me coming, and are startled when I get right up on them.

I have 3. One regular, one crew, and one electric. Only had to replace 2 belts on the regular one. I believe it is an 05 model if I remember correctly. First one was my fault. Those things dont last long when you power brake 'em.

I wouldn't own anything but a Z71. I've had 6 over the years, and had no trouble at all with them. I put 320,000 miles on the first one I had, and never did anything to the motor except change the spark plugs at 186,000 miles.
