With all the corn around being harvested, was thinking about when to bush hog my sunflowers.

I'm thinking about letting them eat corn for awhile and start cutting sunflowers one week before the opener and then a few days before the opener.

What does everybody think about the impact the corn ...

You can plant ag rice in 6 inches of water this time of year and it will make. Of course 2 inches it will do better. Seed a heavy rate the deeper your water depth is. Water seeding is how they do it in CA and south LA.

Mallards love it, but for whatever reason it is hit or miss. When they hit it they'll hit coffeeweed hard, but I have never seen them use it all season. Don't know why. Just keep your eye on it, and hunt it when they get in it.

Like I said, this is my opinion. Mallards don't eat large red oak acorns all that much, but they do eat them cause I've killed them with large red oak acorns lined up down their esophagus.

ducks need food - plain and simple - you have food you'll have ducks - I think they can smell it or see it or something - you can kill them every day if there is a lot of food for them. Every so many years like one in ten in a really dry year, they will need a drink and a water hole devoid of food ...
