The only real problem is the changing times. Many of the reasons listed above are true - larger bag limits, popularty of duck hunting and more hunters, flood control practices, land lease practices, and the big one that hasn't been mentioned, restricted Federal property.

The big store across from the mall in Tupelo is going to have all sorts of stuff in it, including a large hunting goods section. A good friend just made a huge sale of paint to the place. According to my info it isn't supposed to be connected to the Bass Pro Shops though 8)

Tangled in the band

January 1992 I walked up on a mallard hen in a flooded milo field. She had a "red vine" through the notch in her band. Obviously she had swam around so many times that the vine was twisted like rope. The guys hunting near Charleston say they are killing ducks but that a new front is needed to push some more on down.
Sounds like the average/normal year so far.
